How to get out of the military?
I've been trying to find many ways to do so that fit my current situation. I've read a lot of post and please if you don't have a real answer for this don't answer. I don't need to hear I'm a coward, or the generic answer of finish your contract. Now I'm in the National Guard, I've been in for a little over a year. I signed up when I was seventeen, so over the summer between junior and senior year I completed basic training. Since then i've been having doubts about where I'm going in life. I started having trouble in school and was not completing any of my work. So I thought maybe it was because I wasn't doing the work at my own pace. So I enrolled into act 176, which means I would still receive work and could do it at my own pace. Then everything turned around, I stopped exercising and stopped going to drills. I missed 4 out of my last 6 drills, lucky for me the year changed over so only 2 of them counted otherwise I'd be facing AWOL and probably a court-martial or a article 15. My depression has been building up because of all of this, of course the military doesn't know I've been diagnosed with clinical depression because I was told by both my recruiter and my brother that I shouldn't tell about anything like that. My brother pressured me into joining, and me at the time being seventeen wanted the money. and that's all he told me about was the money. I've been looking for many things that could get me a discharge. hardship, furthering education (in my case completing high school education) but i don't know how to go about this.
