What's that supposed to mean?

I was on Facebook a minute ago, posting some random thing from an app, and my ex boyfriend commented on it asking why I was mad at him the other day (for commenting on something else.) I told him it was because he insulted me, then he replied with "Btw, your profile pic looks pretty... Don't take that the wrong way" Flattery, but I can't take it the wrong way? What?
